Are you feeling beautiful?

Take a good look in the mirror this LORD's Day and tell me what you see.

Do you see a few grey hairs that need re-highlighting? God sees the wisdom you have acquired with age.

Do you see the beginnings, or more, of ~crows feet~ around your eyes? God sees all the blessings He has blessed you with to cause you to smile so many times He's creased you!

Do you feel like things are heading South that shouldn't be? God is gently reminding you (and me :) that this body was not meant to last and we should be preparing for our home in Heaven.

Do you see a few more pounds on that girlish figure than what you used to have? God sees the great bounty He has blessed you with...and hopes you see it too.

Now there is nothing wrong with wanting to look attractive for our hubbies. God created our natural desire and appreciation for beauty.

But, move on with me for a moment beyond all of the outward adornments that God has blessed us with, and remember where true beauty lies.
...
True beauty lies within a
...
kind,
..
thankful,
..
obedient,
...
servant
...
heart.
...
That's the beauty God is looking for.
...
That's the beauty I need to be reminded to strive for.
...
If this is the heart within you...
...
Then, yes.

You are beautiful.

"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31:30

Have a blessed LORD'S Day.

Thanks for joining us this Spiritual Sunday

Warmly, Debbie

Ahh yes, I feel gravity pulling my backside down to my ankles at times. But then I think, it's ok because Che'min'de'fer and Ditto jeans have been out of style for years and years. (lol) When we were younger we were always trying to accentuate the positives. I say that we do it intellectually as we are older, afterall - aren't we wiser?

Love your post!!!!! Pushing 50 and proud of it!

Great thoughts. God looks on the heart, not the outward appearance. I'm happy about that. Thank you for this reminder. I'm glad you chose to share it with us on Spiritual Sundays.
Blessings,

Your post was a wonderful reminder of what a woman of God should truly count as her accomplishments. It brings to mind the scripture that I have been thinking of often lately, 1Peter 3:4 "but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious." Boy, that gentle spirit is hard! grin. Thanks for the reminder.

So true, so true! I do believe in inner beauty. And I feel and believe that if you have such a heart, it'll resonate on the outside. Somehow there is that glow in you that I am very sure people will see. Oh I believe in it.

I like how you turn things around into a very positive thought. It made me smile :-)
