The Transformation of a Chicken Coop chair

Good Morning All!

**I want to share what I worked on this weekend**

An old chair that I scrounged out of an old abandoned chicken coop.

This is how it looked after I scraped off the wasps nests, dirt, and maybe a little chicken poop.

I didn't want to look too closely.

and shhhh.....

please don't tell my hubbie that it came from a place where chickens used to roost
he already wanted to pitch it

So~ I did a bit of fabric shopping and found some with fun vintage colors.

after prying up two layers of ugly vinyl

and stapling on the new fabric

*ta da*

my little chicken coop chair sits in the corner of my kitchen

Sweet as can be.

Wasn't that a great way to welcome in spring?

I'm sharing this with the fun and inventive group of folks at
Metamorphosis Monday and Vintage Thingie Thursday.

Have a great day~~

very cute. You could do some more transformations on lots of stuff in the old chicken coop, but I am afraid that you better wear a mask the next time you go exploring.

Love it, I remember sitting on a chair like this (it had a little fold out step to put my feet on) when I was a child.....brought back a sweet memory to me and I thank you for that. Keeping Shauna and all your family in my heart and prayers always....:-) Hugs

Very cute! The new covering is so cute and vintage. I promise to keep silent about the "history" of your chair. Helps give it that farmhouse look!

Sometimes junkin has its hazards-like telling the hubby where it came from. You did a fantastic job, he would never know by the looks of it. Beautiful post.

Sorry about the comment delete. I wrote kitchen coop chair instead of chicken coop chair. corrected comment is:

Great job refurbishing the chicken coop chair. I think it would be funny if you had recovered it with chicken fabric!

Perhaps you already know that your chicken coop chair is called a "step stool" They doubled as a step ladder for reaching into the top of cupboards.

Cool coop find!

I LOVE your chicken-poo chair redo :)

Great vintage fabric...it looks so cheery. My grandma had a chair very similar to this when I was little...it was red (grandma loved red...that is where I get it) and every one sat there for haircuts...boys got the buzz job and girls got their bangs cut :)

Blessings!

Great job, Chasity! I love to salvage old junk and make it nice again. Er, what I mean to say, is I love the finished product of old junk turned to new again. The actual act of cleaning and changing can be so much WORK! Way to go. I admire your get'er done attitude!
