~~~note: This post was originally done yesterday but after working on it for an hour and a half, I went to post it and Blogger ate it. ARGH!!!~~~
Good morning dear friends!
I hope that you started your day with a smile on your face and a spring in your step!
It's the first day of March!
Spring is THIS month!
I was so excited when I woke up this morning,
that I literally sprang out of bed...
Woohoo! Ready for the day!
I almost gave poor Dutchess a heartattack...
But not Superman.
He is one tough cookie.
He just smiled his Superman smile...and put on his blue tights...
He just smiled his Superman smile...and put on his blue tights...
I'm so thankful to live in a part of the world that has the changing of seasons. I enjoy each and every one...But don't get me wrong I am ready to tell Winter good-bye!
It was so wonderful to wake up to sunshine this morning!
Sunshine outside my window helps me have sunshine in my heart!
I don't know how the day starts at your house, but our day starts with Bible study.
...after we make the beds,
get hubby off to work,
feed the dog,
do morning chores,
get out school books,
straighten up a few things we missed last night,
and I look longingly at my sewing machine...
Oh boy do I have Spring fever...
I have a terrible urge to play hooky and sew...
O.k. Focus...
Anyway...you get the picture.
I read two chapters in the Old Testament with my lovable Mr. Smartypants son.
Two chapters in the New Testament with Sugarandspice, (our only daughter still at home...she is a brave gal with all this testosterone floating around)
Sportsboy (middle son and child number four)
and Legoman (our baby...don'tcha know he loves being called that...
the one most likely to still be living at home when he is 37.)
Then we all read two chapters on our own wherever we happen to be in our Bibles.
Well, today I got to read some wonderfully encouraging verses from the book of Deuteronomy.
I know these words were written to God's chosen people, Israel, in the Old Testament, but what a blessing to know that under the New Law, ALL that obey His word are His chosen people.
I like to insert my name in place of Israel to help me remember what God expects of me.
"And now, Israel , what doth the Lord require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes which I command thee this day for thy good?
Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is. Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and He chose their seed after them, even you above all people , as it is this day.
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; Him shalt thou serve, and to Him thou shalt cleave, and swear by His name. He is thy praise and he is thy God."
Deuteronomy 10:12~21a
I hope your day is filled with sunshine in your sky and in your hearts!
I'm gonna go give Superman and a call and see how his day is going.
Love to you all!
Debbie
