Five Fun Facts For Friday

Oh boy.

Let me give you a little background information on this posting.

I was lying in bed at 2:30 this morning smelling a strange odor.
Sort of an onioney smell.
None too pleasant.

I got up to investigate.
Found my dog sleeping on the couch.

{which he is not supposed to be doing}
bad dog.

opened the front door and was hit by a wall of stinkiness.

Seems as if a skunk and one of the wandering
neighborhood tom cats had it out.

I would venture to guess that the skunk won this battle.

It smells like he squeezed out every bit of wretched perfume from his
little black and white body.

In my front yard.

So....

while I'm up~
maybe I'll do a post.

That should be fun.

heavy on the should.

My computer shut down 4 times while trying to pull up the internet.

Now I'm thinking that I smell a virus too.

After wiggling and banging the mouse on the pad repeatedly
and hammering the keys madly in an attempt to get a response....

I finally restarted the computer.

Seems as if that did the trick.

Now it's 4:22 and I'm not feeling nearly as witty.

Tired?
yes

Grumpy?
maybe

So here I go with my brilliant plan to post 5 fun facts for you

Some tidbits of information that you may not know

and that you may or may not be interested in knowing

Number 1

I am the oldest of 4 girls

Not that I'm old. I just happened to be born first.

I have two girls~~can't imagine doubling that.

that's a lot of squealing and drama and dirty clothes
and later~time spent in the bathroom.....and on the phone....

I would need a revolving account at the local spa.

But not my mother.

I only remember her raising her voice once.

and that was over a banana.

We all laughed hysterically.

poor momma.

We didn't call her Mother Teresa for nothing.

Number 2

I got married when I was 19.

19.

OOOf....that's young

The first semester after I started college

my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years and I knew it was time to make it permanent.

We've been married 17 years.

We were young

but we knew we were right.

Number 3

~~This one is related to marriage too~~

My youngest sister Shauna is married to
my husband's younger brother

So....my sister is also my sister-in-law

{and my best friend}

are children are double cousins.

It works great for us.

fewer presents to buy

don't have to try to work someone new into the family

Number 4

I've never been pulled over by a cop.

The thing is~ I'm not a rule breaker.
This is why I also was never sent to the Principal's Office.

and I also think that it has to do with the fact that I've almost always driven
Granny cars.

Never had a speedster.

Probably never will.

Unless I stumble upon a fortune somewhere.

I always have liked Jaguars

or a nice Mercedes.

{are those Granny cars too?}

whatever.

Number 5

You know

I can't think of a 5th fact right now.

I'm ready for some more sleep

plus this is the wordiest blog I've ever written.

I apologize now.....
hope you made it through

that's what you get when I start working on a post at 2:30 in the morning
and I'm intoxicated by skunk odor.

Have a great weekend friends~

I am so glad that the only bad story that you can remember is the banana story. I am sure that I raised my voice many, many times, and like the banana story it was probably over something silly that wouldn't have mattered anyway. Did you ever think that maybe the reason I didn't have to raise my voice as often as others was because I was blessed with such wonderful daughters? I know that you can relate to that.
Have a wonderful "spring" day.
I love you,
Mom
"Mother Teresa" :)

What a bummer about the skunk. That's not much of a romantic night! Ick! Nice to know we are on the same schedule again. :) Hope you have a great day today. I am having a great time with your girlie girls! Love you! Debbie

Oh, Chas... skunks are the worst! If he sprayed your porch, isn't there a remedy like tomato juice? I guess you just need to pray for rain and lots of it!

That's neat that your kids and Shauna's are double first cousins. I do genealogy and always enjoy finding that in families.

Warm hugs to you and yours...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Oh baby, I don't even want to think about stinky polecats after what we went though last summer.. Remember the skunkapades? You write a mean 2:30 post, I totally enjoyed it!

Have a super weekend!

okay... that would be a little strong - right there on your front porch. BUT! "skunk" is actually one of my favorite smells. Along with all the wonderful farm smells out our back door.

My hubby shakes his head. (and so are the rest of you - I'm sure)

I love the idea of you and your sis being sis-in-laws, and your kids as double- cousins. How fun is that? Although I have to ask "Does your sister ever get on your last nerve as the 'sis-in-law', might usually do sometimes?"

What a FUNny post!!! loved it.

LOL! Intoxicated by skunk odor. Oh yes, so intoxicating! I'm a "double cousin"! Most people don't know what that is, but I love it! My mom's brother married my dad's sister. We were always so close to our double cousins growing up, and to this day we're kind of like all one big happy dysfunctional family. Those double cousins of ours, are more like siblings than cousins. We all have basically the same DNA anyway!
