Our family loves corny and thrives on traditions....
We celebrate themed parties every few months.
Our longest running party is the Halloween Pumpkin Carving Party.
We have been celebrating this one for 10 straight years.
While our little kids do some pumpkin painting or carving....
It's really for us big kids. I admit it.

~~He and Mom will have the best pumpkin of the group~~
and believe me~ they are always amazing.
Our pumpkins have required power tools....dimmer switches...
spray paint....motors....
and nobody tells their idea until it reveals its form at the carving party.
So....
When I thought up my idea this year, I thought that it probably had never been done in the history of pumpkin carving
{ok....not likely but I really did think it}
I start getting mine ready.....
Shauna starts getting hers ready.
hmmmm.
Our preparations are looking eerily similar.

While it is sometimes difficult to watch life keep trudging on in the midst of grief and tears...
it was wonderful to stay true to our traditions
and drink in the joy
that comes from being with family.
Thank you for your continued good thoughts, encouraging words, and cherished prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. What a wonderful tradition. Your children will remember it, always, and hopefully carry on for years to come.

You girls share the dearest treasure: a family that can play, laugh and enjoy the simple moments together. That's what will help you walk through the hard times. Hang in there!!All our best, Clara & Marcela

Those pumpkins were amazing! I would never have thought of the "whopper" theme. YES, those traditions are important, even more so now. Keep your chin up, and cry when you need to! Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way.

A wonderful family tradition. I think it is soooo cool you need things like motors and dimmer switches in your plans. Ya'll must be one fun lovin' competitive bunch. It's obvious how much fun you have together.

That looks like a sweet way to spend the day... I'm so glad you are able to put the grief aside and have fun during times like this too!
Hi Chasity.
It is so wonderful to see you girls all together living each day to the fullest. Never taking a second for granted. I so love that.
How are things going for Shauna of late? I am still holding her up in prayer, and will continue to do so. Jeremiah 30:17 - He will give you back your health and heal thy wounds.
I am praying for you too sweetie. One day at a time, one step at a time.
Country hugs and much love, Sherry
