The Back Roads

The Back Roads

I'm taking the back roads to find my way

I do not know what lies ahead

The future lies waiting
beyond the turn

There is no map...

But I do have a Guide

There may be times when I feel lost

I'll look to the heavens and find my way

There's a hidden beauty in the back roads

a soothing....a calm....a peace

There is wisdom in the back roads

and whispers from the past

I take the backroads and find my way home.

Chasity

{{I took these pictures and had this post made ~only with different words...
before our lives were changed with the news of my sister.
The girls and I were coming home from a field trip and took the backroads home.
It took us 3 times longer to get home this way~
it was time well spent}}

That is so pretty. All those old barns take me back to my childhood. I love old barns and the secrets inside them. Ours always had a batch of newborn kittens that we would search for in the hay. Beautiful poem too.
I love you.

A beautiful post as usual. Yes, we sometimes are led to take the back-roads to find our way back home again. Not knowing where the journey will take us and picking up treasures along the way. Keep hanging onto those treasures Chasity.

He will never leave you or forsake you. My prayers are with Shauna and your family. May God pour out his blessings upon you all!!!

Isn't it wonderful knowing that the God who created the heavens and the earth also created your sweet sister Shauna and He knows every little detail about her. Isn't it awesome to know that He holds her in the palm of His hand!!

I know you are unsure, sorrowful, scared. I can only imagine. I pray for peace that passes all understanding for all of you. I pray for complete healing for your sister; from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. Healing in the Name of Jesus.

I look forward with anticipation to the day when you tell all of your blogging buddies that Shauna is walking in complete health. Cancer gone!!!

Sorry this is so long. God bless you all.

"there is peace in the backroads" This is so true...on the backroads, close to nature, we feel closer to God our creator. I am praying daily for Shauna and your whole family.

Beautiful poem and lovely pictures. What a peaceful trip, to slow down and take the back roads. I love to just go driving, not knowing where I'm going, to see where some new road will take me.
Love,
Tina

Amazing how in the flash on a second your perspective of things can change. What a great reminder to treasure every moment we have.

I just love the nostalgia of the old (dirt) back roads... They take you back, in time. Literally.
Oh, if there were only more of these old back roads - so that we would honestly learn to "slow".

Life is too crazy, fast these days. I like to think of the back roads as this "The road(s)less traveled, are always the best ones".

Keep going...

Chas, what a beautiful post. Glad you shared your trip with us.

I just prayed for Shauna, and I hope she is doing well. I want her to be whole and healed.

Chasity...
Like all things worth doing...backroads are always worth the extra time and effort (even if sometimes, we get a little lost and have to find our way back). I find myself taking the backroads more often than not...mostly because of the story the scenery tells and also because there is much less background noise. Hope all is well...Tami E.

I'm a back roads girl. I don't ever drive on the freeway, my hubby does. I take the backroads everywhere. I think it keeps my life simplier, less hurried, and more beautiful.

((hugs)) to you and your baby sister. I will be praying.
