Oooh la la Miss Frenchies!!!

Lovely. Romantic. Inspiring. Stunning. Magical.
That was our day (Saturday) at Miss Frenchie's April in Paris Show. I wasn't sure what to expect. I was sooo looking forward to it.
I knew we would be inspired, but I didn't know I would feel downright giddy!

Our day started out feeling like we were getting to play dress up with flowers in my hair and Chasity wearing her lovely vintage black hat. We love to dress girly and today would be no exception. We were going to Miss Frenchies, after all!! What silly gooses we were to not take pictures of us! Chasity was simply adorable!

We stopped for latte's on the way. It was pouring down rain, and my umbrella was not in the car. While Chas ran into get our lattes, I ran in to purchase umbrellas.

It was to be a day of one smile after another. As I ran into Pier One Imports in my pale lilac polka-dotted dress with a bright yellow polka-dotted underskirt, a lovely lilac scarf and a bright yellow fabric flower {with an antique button center} in my hair, I asked the sales lady if they had any umbrellas. She looked at me without batting an eye and said, "Yes, we have a few left, but they are a little whimsical." Seriously... I assured her that would be fine. She led me to the umbrellas...Light blue with ruffles and bright blue polka dots! Of course, immediately after I purchased our umbrellas, it stopped raining. Magical!

Then another block or two and we arrived at the beautiful estate. Just seeing the grounds--we knew the day would be full of charm.

I'm afraid I can't adequately describe all the wonderful vendors, their displays, the ambiance of the beautiful old barn with all the chandeliers, lace and burlap, the fantastic antiques every where we looked, the creativity, the sincere warmth, enthusiasm and kindness of all the vendors we met. It was simply an amazing day in every way. Hopefully you can get a tiny glimpse with Chasity's pictures, or still peek at the pictures at miss frenchies.

Here we go. The Alexander Majors Foundation actually purchased this chandelier from one of the vendors--Elizabeth from the Elizabeth House in St. Louis.

This little display was from vintiques. It was one of the new vendors added upstairs in the barn. Ohhh do we love their goodies. This table was an inspiration to us for our booth space. It had a shelf under it as well to display more of their fantastic goodies. I'll take one of everything, please!!! Becky, can you see the tiny Scottie Dog in the bottom right corner of the shelf? We were"this close" to buying that little fella and sending him to you, but we got distracted with more and more goodies. Hopefully we can make a trip to their little shop soon.

Oh me oh my, Carol from Raised in Cotton is just as sweet as all of her lovely goodies! We were so thrilled to meet her and she was so kind to just visit with us, amid a very busy day. Inspiring and amazing, down to her sweet, vintage, tiny suitcase she uses as a money box.

Debbie with Curious Sofa was another lovely vendor with fabulous antiques and goods. Now this gal almost got us into trouble. She had the most adorable antique shopping cart, complete with her very Parisian looking poodle lying contentedly on a pillow. Chasity already had her eye an a cart like this...and it was adorable...but she kept her money in her purse.

Everyone we met raved about Elizabeth from the Elizabeth House , about her zeal, her energy and her talent. We absolutely saw that first hand. What a lovely lady with a beautiful, kind heart! She was another one of the many who took time out of her busy day to visit with us. Though she won't remember us (she is not good with names and faces she says) we will not forget her. She had amazing vintage dress forms...even a slightly larger gal, named Bertha. Antique lace, lace and more lace. I wonder if David will mind if I re-do all of our walls with vintage lace and old burlap...hmmm..
Inspirational!

She hung all of these herself. On a really tall ladder. Finished up around 5a.m. Friday morning.

Chasity found the ring of her dreams at Karlas Cottage. Her money box was also adorable. It was an antique key holder box that she had decoupaged. She had a simply lovely display with lots of vintage linens and a beautiful white tutu. Here is a shot of her lovely, lacy ceiling.

Natasha's Mulberry & Mott bakery was heaven sent, yet decadent. Is that possible? Chasity is hoping to have a sisters coffee club there.

We met so many other women entrepreneurs too numerous to mention....there was Julie Reed with her lovely crocheted goodies, who so kindly visited with us and gave us great encouragement, and lots of other wonderful ladies whose names we can't remember. That's not to even mention all the fantastic folks we met that work for the Alexander Majors Foundation. Like Ken Howard, the director, who was as delightfully kind as all the vendors said he was.

It was just a perfectly lovely day. We hope to put our name on the waiting list for vendors. And we hope to do it all over again in December, whether as a vendor or a visitor. We will be excited either way!

I do spy that little scotty...
If it makes you feel any better, I have one just like it. He would have had a twin had he made it here. Thank you though for thinking of me!!!!!!!

I also read below that the wool birds all sold out. That IS FABULOUS! I sure love my little wool duo.
