One Bleary Night

It's no secret that I have sleeping problems at times....but even Sleeping Beauty would not have been able to slumber peacefully at my house last night....
It all started with the neighbors two St. Bernards barking at 3 am....
Aren't these dogs supposed to live in Switzerland? Why in the World does someone in Missouri have these dogs?! I also started wondering how hard it would be to find a bb gun that has night vision.

Then my Spunky woke up and her crocheted blankie was tangled in her ear ring. "See you in the morning baby" I said as she waddled back to bed.
Soon after....
A robin started singing.
Seriously, it is 4:00 in the morning. Do you really have something to sing about in the DARK?

I think your babies are crying....you better go check on them.
{and again, I'm thinking about bb guns....shame on me -- I know}

My husband gets up and goes to the couch. That never happens. Wonder what is up with that?
So now I'm wondering if he is watching anything good on television and if he wants some company.
I go downstairs. Nope....he is sound asleep.

So I start working on this little box that I've been thinking about for a few days.

I think it will make a cute money box when we have our next craft fair.
About an hour later, I hear footsteps creaking....maybe now the hubbie wants some company.
No. It is my other daughter. She had a bad dream. So of course, we climb into my bed and cuddle. Poor thing.

Just when I find myself drifting off into peaceful bliss I hear

dooodoododooododooodooodooodoodoooooooo.....the rising song of my dear hubbie's cell phone alarm. I hate this song more than any song in the world. Long story.

I just wanted to cry.

So, I'm up for good now with a huge cup of coffee and some chocolate chip cookies and I'm hoping to get a sugar rush that lasts more than 3 minutes and I'm dreaming of 2:30 and hoping that a wonderful nap is in my future.

Have a great day :)
Your slightly grumpy friend.....

Hey Wild Woman - Great post and thanks for stopping by my blog! I was still awake at 4 this a.m. too, and coincidentally, had the same chocolate chip cookie and coffee breakfast (in a Pottery Barn "T" mug!) Y'all are some very talented sistahs - I'm coming back to visit again soon.

Chas, I have been up all night, too! And when I went to bed at 6:00ish, I was awakened by the AC man coming to do the yearly check. ARGH!

So as I calculate, I would have been going to bed about 5:00 a.m. your time. We should have emailed!

xo,

Sheila... who needs sleep desperately!

I can relate also! WE have a female cardinal that sits on our deck in the middle of the night and just chirps!! She wakes me up ALL THE TIME!! I had no idea birds were out at night much less chirping! I, too, have had visions of opening the back door and blowing that bird away!

Hope tonight is better!

Just discovered your blog, and wanted to say hi. I also wanted to tell you what I did for my neighbors barking dogs a few years ago.. I made a tape recording of their dogs barking, then I called them in the middle of the night and played if for them! ( not very nice am i?) I didnt let them know it was us (OF COURSE!) and it was before everyone had caller ID!
anyways I hope to find my way back sometime soon! stop and visit me if you get a chance!

I good thing to help you to sleep is valerian. You should try.
About dogs barking in the early morning: that used to happen some years ago. My husband was always so cross. I didn't mind because I sleep well but he had problems with it.
