We had some unexpected news yesterday.
Results of Shauna's latest MRI came in, and the pain in her hip she has been experiencing is being caused by more cancer in her spine. She will start another round of radiation possibly as soon as tomorrow. This news really took the wind out of all of our sails...
But we see the sun still shining.
And the SON still shining.
We can't but help to just being around Shauna.
Shauna is so amazing and positive through it all, with her sparkling eyes and beautiful smile.
She is the one that helps us stay focused.
She loves and appreciates everyone's sweet notes, and all the positive messages folks are sending to her, and prayers so many Christian friends and family are sending up to our Father on her behalf. We all appreciate your prayers and ask our Christian friends to please pray for strength and wisdom for the entire family to lean upon God,
for Shauna's pain to go away,
for wisdom for the doctors to beat this cancer.
"Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary?
There is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:28-30

Oh darn! And just yesterday, when I dropped by to comment on your "spa" post, I was mad at myself for not leaving a comment inquiring about your sister.
So sorry to hear this news, but my heart lightened when I read how positive Shauna continues to remain in spite of her struggles. Her faith and that of your family's shows the rest of the world how to put your trust in God...regardless of what we want here on Earth.

You know, Shauna is truly an inpiration to me. As I await my own biopsy results (from yesterday)- I think of the rays of sunshine that she is spreading and that is surely because of the SON! radiating in and through her life.
I only can hope that the same would be said of me.

Prayer's for the healing of Shauna!
Father God, we just ask that You lay Your healing touch on Shauna. Please remove her pain and allow the meds to work in her body. Lord, I don't even know this woman but I see how she is testifying to Your amazing love and mercy even while walking through this valley. Please continue to hold her in the hollow of your mighty hand. Amen.
Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. How hard for all of you. I will continue to lift Shauna up in prayer.
Bless her heart! She has been through so much and like you said, she is always so upbeat and positive. The SON truly shines through Shauna. I will continue to lift her up. Our God is bigger than any stinkin' cancer.

Ah, sad news. It's wonderful to hear of Shauna's amazing spirit through all of this, though. She and you all are constantly in our prayers. Much, much love to you all.

Well I helped pray my sweet little cousin into remission and darn it I'll help get Shauna there too!!! Sorry for the set back but this will work it's way out and I know it will be sunny on the other side!

I am so sorry to hear about this latest set back. I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers and hope that this next round of radiation send Shauna into remission. This really stinks for her and for your entire family.
With all my heart, we allcontinue our prayer chain here...for strength, for healing, for contintued faith...we will not cease praying here until she is healed!
