Dearest Blogging Friends,
I wanted to start with a Big Thanks for all your encouraging words, support, and prayers that you have offered on behalf of my sister, her family, and the rest of us. Your kindness has helped so much in getting through this difficult time.
I'm sorry that I haven't been getting around to all of you like I used to. For one thing, it has been incredibly busy....with research, and planning, and just spending time with family. And I can't get excited about fashion or decorating or recipes....{unless they are about cancer fighting foods}.

Being shocked with news like this sure is eye-opening and priority-changing. Life is so short and so fragile.
It has made me realize even more that every minute counts......
and none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.
It has made the bigger picture of Heaven so much clearer.
Shauna is a faithful and obedient child of His who goes to Worship every week, studies her Bible, and prays diligently. I know she has a place prepared for her in Heaven Everlasting. In that I have much comfort.
And I have peace in knowing that my family and I are doing our best to get ready for the life that awaits us after this one. That wonderful place where there will be no cancer.
no tears. no worries. no sorrow.

As for an update on Shauna...

She will be starting chemotherapy treatments on Thursday. She will go for treatments for 8 days on ~ then a two week break~ then 8 days in a row again for a couple of months to see if the tumors are shrinking. They are feeling very positive about this course of action....and having a positive attitude is one of the most important things to have right now.
She is going to eat a strict diet of healthy foods that are known to help fight disease. If any of you have any experience with this....please drop me a note in my email.
That and prayers are going to get her better.
Lots of love and big hugs~~ Chasity

A special thanks to my dear friend and a kindred spirit ~Julia~ for letting me use some of her beautiful photographs for this post. Julia is a very special gal who has been doing the work of the Lord in Africa for the past couple of years. You can visit her photoblog here and her other blog here. I can't wait for Julia to open her own photography shop....she is amazing.
Miss you bunches Jewels!
Please do not copy these photos without permission~~if you do it will make you fat and ugly :p

No worries about visiting all of us. Keep your focus on your sister. Know that each of us are storming the heavens on her behalf.
Blessings, hugs, and love, andrea
Chasity,
Right now your family is your priority. Take care of what needs to be taken care of, but don't foreget yourself too. You need to be healthy to work through it for the others.
Prayers and good thoughts are with you and yours.

Chas, one thing that Shauna needs to do is to stay away from eating sugar. It has a tendency to feed tumors. Also, remind her that nausea is not just feeling queasy. It's a loss of appetite. If they tell her to take meds when she's nauseous, she needs to remember that. Get the doctors and nurses to define everything and ask lots and lots of questions. Sweet potatoes in place of white potatoes. They have a lot more nourishment in them. They also don't drop your blood sugar the way a white potato will. Have been there with loved ones.
XO,
Sheila
yes I second what Stefanie said Do not be sorry. At least you are concerned enough to peek in for a bit.
I loved this post it says so much.Im with you on people who deny Gods exsistance.I do not know how you can get through this life with out hope of eternal life afterwards. My God is very important in my life, forever he will be close to me.
I hope your sister will do well with this chemo.Im sure it will put a very big strane oh her and her children and hubbby. But she must stay positive, mindset is very important with any kind of health issues especially cancer.Ive been there I understand.I never had little children at the time though. But seeing how close your family is Im sure that works out well.
God Bless all of you in this walk down one of lifes harder roads.~~Love becky

I'm already fat and ugly LOL I won't take them though ;)
I'm so very sorry girls. I've been so busy, I had no idea what was going on and I feel terrible. I will pray really hard for Shauna and all of you. God Bless.
(((big giant hugs)))

One word of advice... whatever medication they give her, don't take anything personally. Sometimes the meds cause cancer patients to become very angry and irrational. I don't know if Shauna will be taking any, but I thought I should mention it.

Hi Chas! Thank you for all your help with creating my blog! I am so excited to join the blogging world finally. You are such an inspiration to me in more ways then one. Thank you for all you stand for and all you do. I am blessed to be able to call you "sister". You and your family continue to be in my constant thoughts and prayers! ~Take care
Shauna is in my prayers. My husband Dennis has been diag. with stage 4 melanoma that has spread to his lungs. What I would like to share with you is how well he is doing using high dosage vitamin c IV at 100 grams once a week, also nutrition and supplements another thing we found is called ESSiac tea, that can be purchased at whole foods, sprouts, or other health food stores. I will keep Shauna in my prayers knowing that our God is truly the great physician.
